What is uric acid?
It is a chemical compound found in the body, consisting of oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, and nitrogen. It is also called “uric acid” because it is excreted in the urine.
Uric acid is produced by the breakdown of purine compounds in the body.
Purine is found in a group of protein foods, whether animal or plant, when eating large amounts of these foods that contain purine, an increase in uric acid occurs, which results in some health problems.
The level of this acid in the body varies from person to person, but there is a percentage that varies between men and women.

“Dark berries have a powerful anti-inflammatory effect and the best are cherries,” Dr. Wei says.
Like blueberries and strawberries, they contain anthocyanins, anti-inflammatory plant pigments – and the darker the berry, the more you get. Wei recommends eating one-half to 1 cup of cherries or dark berries per day.
You can also drink cherry juice or take cherry supplements in capsules.

Another way to treat high uric acid is by consuming green tea every day. This helps in controlling hyperuricemia or high uric acid levels and also lowers the risk of developing gout.

Cook your foods with cold-pressed olive oil. This is a healthy start as it contains anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory properties.
Adding foods that are high in dietary fiber also helps in lowering uric acid levels in the blood.
